The initial 2500 had the 2620 board in the CPU slot with 4MB on board and a
2091 card also with 4MB on board if you were lucky. The 2500 also had the
2320 board which is the same as the flicker fixer found in the 3000 systems.
Generally you could find a good starter 2500 020/16Mhz with a 42MB Quantum
hard drive and 4MB of memory for just under $3500USD. Later on after the
first year, the 2630 came out which replaced the 2620 boards and the pricing
didn't change. Commodore offered the A2323 seven port serial board as an
incentive to BBS ops as an option with the 2500 near the end of life of the
2620. The last 2500 before the 3000 came out had an 030/25Mhz with 4MB of
memory still but the hard drive was an option for about $500 extra with the
120MB drive.

I still have all of my receipts. 8^)

The first 2500s shipped with a 68020 not sure of the speed, the later
ones had a 25 mhz 030 with an fpu and 4 megs of 32 bite memory
